I joined plant-based YouTuber, Hench Herbivore, to discuss what the optimal protein intake is for muscle gains and strength performance, particularly for older adults who often struggle to gain or even maintain muscle mass. In this discussion we also touch on how protein may impact bone health and if high protein diets are detrimental to health as is suggested by many in the anti-aging/longevity space. As with most nutrition topics, there’s some nuance here and it really depends on the source of the protein.
